FAQ
Are all cowhides the same quality?
No. We only supply quality Brazilian cowhides selected for thickness, durability and finish.
Lower-grade hides (often sold as craft hides) can be thinner and may include holes or marks. We clearly separate these on our site.
Are cowhides ethical?
Yes. Cowhides are a by-product of the cattle industry — no animals are raised solely for their hides.
Are cowhide rugs durable?
Yes. Cowhides are naturally hard-wearing and suitable for everyday use, even in high-traffic areas.
Are cowhides soft?
Yes. Quality cowhides have a soft, smooth finish while still being durable.
Will the rug look exactly like the photo?
No. Every cowhide is unique in colour, pattern and shape.
Images represent the general style, but natural variation is part of the product.
Are cowhides still in style?
Yes. Cowhides have been used in interiors for decades and remain a timeless design feature.
How are cowhides measured?
We measure from the tip to the base for length, and across the widest point for width.
Sizes are approximate as each hide is unique.
Can cowhide rugs be cleaned easily?
Yes. Most spills can be wiped off easily, and regular light brushing keeps the hide looking good.
Do cowhides have marks or imperfections?
Yes. As a natural product, hides may include small marks, scars or variations — these are normal and part of their character.
Do you sell the exact hide shown?
For our main range, we supply hides within a selected style and quality.
For craft hides, the exact piece shown is supplied.
